Mounjaro® Starting Dose & Dose-Increase Chart

The prescribing information uses a gradual dose-escalation schedule to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Dose changes should be made only by the prescribing healthcare provider.

For weight-management patients: Mounjaro® is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes. A licensed provider may consider its use for weight management when medically appropriate. Your individual plan may differ, so follow your prescription rather than using a general chart to make treatment changes.

How Often Is Mounjaro® Injected?

Once Weekly

Mounjaro® is administered once each week, at any time of day, with or without meals.

Changing Injection Day

If your injection day needs to change, there should be at least 3 days (72 hours) between doses.

Missed Dose

A missed dose may be taken within 4 days (96 hours). If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and resume on the regular day.

Do not double-dose: Do not take 2 Mounjaro® doses within 3 days (72 hours) of each other. If you are unsure what to do after a missed dose, contact your prescribing provider or pharmacist.
