Mounjaro® is given by subcutaneous injection. Mild redness, soreness or itching may occur at the injection site. Rotating injection areas may help reduce irritation.
Use an appropriate area of the abdomen and avoid injecting too close to the belly button.
The front or outer portion of the upper thigh may be used for subcutaneous injection.
The back or side of the upper arm may also be an injection site when appropriate.
Large or heavy meals may worsen nausea or stomach discomfort for some patients.
Fluids are especially important if nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea occurs.
Keep track of when symptoms occur, especially after dose changes or certain foods.
